Rebuilt the console from measurements instead of taste
Two mockups got rejected. The third was built desktop-first from panels and computed styles measured off a live reference app, read-only.
Three tickets shipped to the box the same week
Taste got two rejections. Measurement got one “directionally so much better.” The fix was not a better eye, it was opening the app that already works, reading its panels and computed styles, and building desktop-first from what was actually there. The same week put three tickets on the always-on box, each hand step small enough to paste and run. Design stopped being an argument and became a reference library.
